We have recently invested in DVS and FORs approved camera monitoring systems, proximity warning sensors and turn warning systems. The camera systems provide the driver with an internal monitor to reduce the trucks blindspots. The proximity warning systems alert the driver of the proximity of people, cyclists and other vehicles at speeds below 20kmh. The turn warning system lets the public know when the vehicle is turning left (right for left hand drive vehicles) it has a kill switch for driving in urban areas at night time. Also part of the system is some new blindspot signage to draw attention to the public of where they are and the need to get drivers attention if in close proximity to the truck. All of this will lead to improved safety, reduced insurance premiums/claims and greater awareness for the driver of his surroundings via the internal monitor system.
